About the Role:

The role of Business Development Manager – Cargo will be working with a highly dynamic and collaborative team across Europe and Asia Pacific and play a pivotal role in driving growth in a new business segment – cargo customers. This role is fully office-based in Zug, Switzerland or Ljubljana, Slovenia, and requires some international travel. The applicant must hold the right to live and work in Switzerland or Slovenia as visa sponsorship is not possible.

Responsibilities:

The primary focus of the Business Development Manager – Cargo is to develop and execute the Sales strategy to increase segment revenue, demonstrate added value to customers and drive growth in the Cargo business line.

The role involves driving sales growth by achieving company sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). This includes acquiring new customers, implementing innovative strategies to enhance customer value, and increasing revenue from existing clients. The individual will deliver detailed sales presentations, negotiate commercial terms and legal agreements, and ensure a smooth transition for new clients. Additionally, they are responsible for fostering customer advocacy through referrals and recommendations.

Beyond sales, the role includes market analysis to identify trends and needs in the Cargo segment while assisting in the development of sales and marketing strategies. On the administrative side, responsibilities include maintaining accurate data in Active Campaign, managing Trello boards for workflow tracking, overseeing contract timelines and ensuring proper contract processing. The role also requires collaboration with Finance to maintain billing accuracy and timely payments, while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the company.

Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Tertiary degree or relevant experience in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Sales or Economics
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in sales roles or business development, experience with scalable SaaS solutions preferable
  • Solid understanding of Cargo Aviation market
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Active Campaign)
  • Proven track records or increasing sales YoY through strategic initiatives
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English
  • A logical and methodical thinker with ambition, attention to detail and the ability to understand the process.
